After missing more than a month due to a groin injury, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James might make his return to the court against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.

LeBron suffered the injury in the third quarter of the team's Christmas Day showdown against the Golden State Warriors. The purple and gold won that game, but they went downhill from there.

The Lakers have only won five six games since December 25, and they are now out of the Western Conference playoff picture with a 26-25 record.

Without LeBron, the Lakers looked at their celebrated young core to step up, but Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, and Ivica Zubac have all struggled to find consistency in James' absence. Veterans Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley, JaVale McGee, and Tyson Chandler weren't much help either.

This has prompted the Lakers to look for an upgrade. They recently put all of their young players in the trading block, with the hopes of landing a star or a 3-point shooter before the trade deadline.

LeBron's return could help the Lakers keep their playoff hopes alive while waiting for any trade to come to fruition. He has been participating in full contact practice for an entire week now. The team will see how he feels before ultimately deciding if he can play.
