Oh yeah, it's already on and the new sideline boss is making sure it remains “on” even with the biggest game of the year in front of him.

New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia has already begun the Detroit Lions housecleaning, and we're not discussing opening up windows and priming those vacuum cleaners.

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the soon-to-be head coach of the Lions has already informed some assistant coaches that they will not be remaining with the team moving forward.

Former defensive coordinator Tyrel Auston—under recently fired Jim Caldwell—has already taken a job with the Cincinnati Bengals, as has defensive line coach Kris Kocurek via the Miami Dolphins.

Early indications have Patricia hanging on to offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, the man with the best name in the league, but the defensive side of the football is an entirely different story as it appears Patricia is currently cleaning house.

Identical to his Foxborough counterpart, Josh McDaniels via the Indianapolis Colts, Patricia isn't officially the Lions sideline boss. It can't and won't happen until the Patriots 2017 season officially concludes. These firings are technically good faith means of communication on behalf of Patricia (with the hopes the informed coaches have more options on the table in terms of future football employment).

Obviously, there's just one tiny matter at hand prior to Patricia moving to the Motor City—Super Bowl 52, only the world's biggest event that'll see Tom Brady and Patricia's Pats take on the Philadelphia Eagles in hopes of earning the organization its sixth Vince Lombardi Trophy.

For Detroit Lions fans, they're just hibernating until it's over and Matt Patricia officially becomes their guy.
