Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was unable to finish Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers, with the 32-year-old forced to exit late in the game due to a rib injury. An update has been provided on Stafford's status, and it appears that he has sustained quite a considerable injury on Sunday night.

Here's an update on Stafford's injury via NFL.com's Ian Rapoport:

Stafford completed 24-of-34 passes on Sunday in a 31-24 loss against the Packers for a respectable 244 yards. The former first overall pick also logged one touchdown before being forced to exit at around the midway point of the fourth and final period.

Stafford got clocked by Packers tackle Kenny Clark after the former ran inside the five-yard line for a first down. Stafford was able to stay on for the next play, which resulted in a touchdown for the Lions, but appeared to be in significant pain on the sidelines as soon as he was pulled out of the game shortly after the next possession.

It remains to be seen if Stafford will be able to take the field for the Lions when they take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 15. Based on the above update, however, we'd consider Stafford to be questionable for that matchup. Stafford is also rumored to be a candidate to leave Detroit in the offseason.

Sunday's defeat was Detroit's third loss in four games, as they now stand at 5-8 on the season. They remain at the very bottom of the NFC North, with their playoff hopes quickly evaporating after each defeat.

On the season, Matthew Stafford has racked up 3,522 passing yards and 22 touchdowns against nine interceptions.
