Liverpool talisman Mo Salah enjoyed a breathtaking campaign for the Reds. He led the Premier League in goals and assists, scoring 23 times and setting up another 13. Despite winning the Golden Boot, top playmaker, and two domestic trophies, Salah revealed he'd give it all up just for the chance to play the Champions League final again, where his side suffered a crushing 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid in Paris.

Being recognised by the Liverpool fans and by the sports journalists in the same season is something special that I will never forget. I would however give all those personal awards up for a chance at replaying that final, but that is not how football works.

Liverpool controlled the entire game but couldn't find the back of the net in a very toothless attacking performance. It was their opportunity to complete the treble, already winning the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. Unfortunately, Vinicius Junior scored a second-half winner and broke the Reds' hearts.

For Salah, in particular, he was looking for revenge after he was forced off in the first half in 2018 against Los Blancos in the showpiece after a dirty tackle from Sergio Ramos.

But despite failing to win Europe's most prized competition, Liverpool enjoyed a phenomenal season. It's just a shame they couldn't capitalize in the biggest fixture of their season.

Mo Salah won't be forgetting it anytime soon.
