The UFC is back in action this week as the promotion heads home to Las Vegas for another Fight Night card on ESPN+. We’re bringing you our betting predictions and picks as this next bout takes place in the Lightweight (155) Division. Loik Radzhabov of Tajikistan will take on Trey Ogden of Kansas. Check out our UFC odds series for our Radzhabov-Ogden prediction and pick.

Loik Radzhabov (18-5-1) has gone 2-1 since joining the UFC back in 2023. He’s faced some tough opposition since his arrival to the big stage and he impressed with a TKO-win over Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady in his last bout. With his last two bouts ending in finishes, he’ll look for a similar result in this fight. Radzhabov stands 5’11” with a 69-inch reach.

Trey Ogden (17-6) has gone 2-2 since joining the UFC in 2022. After a ‘No Contest’ decision in a huge fight against Nikolas Motta, Ogden was thrusted into a big spot against Kurt Holobaugh and took the unanimous decision in his most recent appearance. Now, he’ll look to improve his standing against another dangerous opponent. Ogden stands 5’11” with a 72-inch reach.

Why Loik Radzhabov Will Win

At first glance, Loik Radzhabov is a terrifying character with an imposing physical frame and an aggressive fight style. He’s a wrestler by nature and lands over six takedowns per three rounds, making good on 57% of his attempts. Once he’s able to force opponents to the ground, Radzhabov fights with suffocating top pressure and will look to hold his opponents down in hopes of negating their offensive attack. He has five wins by submission while never being submitted himself, so we could see him implement his usual strategy by closing the distance and quickly bringing Ogden to his back.

Loik Radzhabov will first have to close the distance in the striking and work his way inside against a taller, longer opponent. Trey Ogden also has a very developed jiu jitsu game, so Radzhabov may not be totally comfortable with just sitting on top of his and throwing ground strikes. To be successful here, Radzhabov will have to land very damaging strikes and attempt to win this fight with his ground-and-pound. It’s not likely that he’ll find the submission against a guy like Ogden, but he can certainly dominate the ground game if he can string his takedowns together and find control time on the mat.

Why Trey Ogden Will Win

Trey Ogden is also a wrestler by nature, but unlike his opponent, he’s spent most of his time on the feet and saving his jiu jitsu for dire moments when he needs it the most. Ogden is developing as a striker with each passing fight and his last bout against Kurt Holobaugh was a great indication of his growing skill set and ability to mix up his looks. When it comes to grappling, Ogden has a perfect 100% takedown defense rate and it’ll be very interesting to see if Radzhabov can be the first opponent to bring him to the mat.

While Loik Radzhabov may be the more imposing physical force when these two meet, he’s the more active fighter and does a good job moving his feet around the cage. His takedown defense is stellar and it’ll be impossible to bring him down unless his opponent is perfect on the entry. Trey Ogden also has world-class jiu jitsu defense and submission attacks off his back, so expect him to welcome Radzhabov into his guard as he looks to sweep and find a submission win in this fight.

Final Loik Radzhabov-Trey Ogden Prediction & Pick

This will be an interesting fight given the physical tools of Loik Radzhabov and his relentless pursuit of the takedown. Trey Ogden, however, has yet to be taken down in any of his UFC fights and we should see him dictating where this fight takes place. Still, 11 of his wins are by way of submission and it doesn’t look like he’ll be knocking Radzhabov out, so we could see him try and find offense with his BJJ.

If Loik Radzhabov can take Trey Ogden down and hold him there, we could be in for a tough three-round grind as both men won’t want to give any space on the ground. Radzhabov is the better pure wrestler, but his cardio and lack of activity on the ground could serve in Ogden’s favor. Fully expect this fight to go over and for most to take place in the clinch or on the ground.

For our final prediction, we’ll roll with Trey Ogden to get the win here, simply for his submission upside and takedown defense. Still, this bout with probably see a lot of action along the fence with Radzhabov desperately trying to bring Ogden down. For a safer bet, let’s also ride the over as this one heads to a close decision based on control time and offense.
