The Rams and their head coach Jeff Fisher might be new to Los Angeles, but they still have plenty of experience in getting the job done. The Lakers‘ newest head coach, Luke Walton, sees how experienced Fisher is with coaching teams, and because of it, he decided to go take a visit to Fisher in order to gain some lessons in coaching.

Fisher's head coaching experience goes back to 1995 when he was the head man of the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans until 2010. During that time, Fisher reached the Super Bowl once, in the 1999-2000 season, where (ironically enough) he lost to the then St. Louis Rams. Fisher has been coaching the Rams since 2012, and his overall record with them is 27-36-1.

Walton attended Rams training camp this week to see how Fisher runs his practices; if Fisher knows the way to handle coaching around 90 players, then he can surely teach Walton how to coach 15 players.

When asked about going to the practice in an interview with the Rams' website, Walton had this to say:

“I came down with an open mind. I know it’s obviously different sports, but coaching to me is coaching. It’s how you relate to the players and different strategies.”

While Fisher has not had the greatest success with the Rams in recent years, he is still someone who can give tons of coaching knowledge. Fisher has turned the Rams into a team with plenty of potential and a lot hope for the future; when he initially took over, this simply wasn't the case. Walton hopes to do the same with the Lakers.

Both of these big teams in LA have the talent in their youth, but now it is about putting it all together. A big thing going for Fisher's future is the skill that Todd Gurley has brought to the team. If Walton can get the same in Ingram, then it won't be long until both teams are in the playoffs.
