Orlando Magic power forward Jonathan Isaac is not having a great experience in his first year in the pros. Isaac has appeared in just 15 games this season, as he's being hampered by an ankle injury he suffered on Nov. 17.

So far, Isaac has been absent in 21 games, but he’s about to miss more as the Magic have decided to rule him out indefinitely, per Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.

It also sounds as though the Magic are not going to let Jonathan Isaac play until his ankle is 100 percent healed.

“It’s really just about getting him to where he’s at his best and not yo-yoing him in and out of games and having him re-tweak it,” coach Frank Vogel said Saturday. “[We want to] strengthen the ankle and strengthen his legs and conditioning so that it’s not an issue anymore.”

The injury robbed Isaac to play increased minutes, especially of late, with the Magic also temporarily losing a number of key players to injuries. It could have been a good chance for Jonathan Isaac to shine, but unfortunately, his problematic ankle keeps on getting in his way. So far this season, Isaac has put up just an average of 5.3 points and 3.7 rebounds on 18.9 minutes per game.

Jonathan Isaac was selected by Orlando as the sixth overall pick in the recent NBA Draft and is playing on a two-year, $9.1 million deal with the Magic.
