The Orlando Magic will celebrate their 30th anniversary this season. To honor that impressive milestone, the team will wear a new set of throwback jerseys at various times throughout their 2018-19 NBA campaign, according to a report from Josh Robbins of The Orlando Sentinel.

The uniforms, which are designed by Nike, are a spitting image of the kits the team wore on the road from 1994 to 1998, right down to the pinstriping and “Orlando” script across the chest. The Magic have also come up with a new 30th anniversary logo — one that honors the original from 1989.

Via Robbins:

Team officials released photos of the new logo and the throwback jersey to people who were the franchise’s season-ticket holders in 1989.

Most Magic fans will recognize this jersey design right away, as it's similar to those that were worn by the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Anfernee Hardaway, Nick Anderson, Dennis Scott, and Horace Grant — a squad that made it all the way to the NBA Finals n 1995.

Though they look similar, the new kits do have a few subtle differences. A pair of logos — Nike and Disney — will be stitched on the front, and the waistband will feature an old school “Magic” insignia.

At this point, it is not known how many games the Magic will play in their new uniforms.

The Magic are expected to release more of their 30th anniversary plans for the upcoming season at a later date, according to Robbins.
