Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo shut down any speculation that he would leave Turin before the Aug. 31 transfer deadline. But after being used as a substitute in the club's season opener against Udinese, Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes has met with the Italian giants and is reportedly offering Man City the opportunity to sign Cristiano in the coming days, per Fabrizio Romano.

Cristiano Ronaldo would be able to depart next summer for free, which means Juventus is looking to cash in on their prized possession right now if he ultimately bolts for Man City. However, the reigning Premier League champions aren't willing to pay the €28 million fee for the Portuguese international.

As Romano pointed out, the Citizens haven't even made a bid for Ronaldo at this point. But with limited time left in the summer window, a deal would have to materialize rather quickly.

Juve boss Max Allegri insisted it was his choice to use Cristiano Ronaldo off the bench last weekend, but it was an extremely weird sight not seeing one of the greatest footballers ever and their best player in the starting XI. The Old Lady ultimately drew 2-2 after Ronaldo's winner was ruled out due to VAR.

It appears that Mendes is doing the heavy lifting here in finding his client a new club to play for. The thought of Cristiano Ronaldo on Man City's squad is scary in itself and would undoubtedly push them to another title and quite possibly a Champions League triumph. For under €30 million, it's well worth it, especially with Harry Kane making it clear that he will stay at Tottenham.

This will be an interesting situation to keep an eye on in the next few days.
