Another day, another trophy for Erling Haaland.

The Manchester City talisman added to his impressive list of accomplishments on Thursday as he was named the UEFA Men's Player of the Year for the 2022-23 season after helping the Cityzens win their first-ever Champions League title. During the ceremony, the Norwegian had the perfect message on how his career is shaping up despite being just 22 years old.

Via Football on TNT:

“I'm feeling good. I won the treble, I'm 22 years old, I'm kinda living the dream. This was my dream when I was young to be able to do this together with my teammates is something special of course, I'm really happy. It gives me so much motivation to keep on working and achieving and more of the trophies. It's free motivation.”

Haaland broke onto the European scene in 2019-20 with RB Leipzig, bagging eight goals in just six appearances. He did a lot of the same with Borussia Dortmund before moving to Manchester, where he was the leading scorer in the competition in 2022-23.

The striker netted 12 times in 11 UCL outings last term and although he didn't hit the back of the net in the showpiece against Inter, Erling Haaland was integral in the Sky Blues finally conquering their Champions League demons.

So far in 2023-24, Erling Haaland has picked up right where he left off with three goals in as many appearances for Pep Guardiola's men, who have three victories to show for to begin the Premier League campaign.

As for the UCL, City were dealt a relatively easy group Thursday, with RB Leipzig, Young Boys, and Red Star Belgrade. We can expect Haaland to absolutely light it up again.
