Manchester City legend David Silva have named Arsenal as the biggest threat to his former team’s title defense. The Spaniard announced his retirement from football last month after being unable to recover from a knee injury during Real Sociedad’s pre-season.

Silva recently spoke to the Mirror, “They have an amazing team with some amazing players. This is Pep's eighth season at City. The first year, he was getting used to the Premier League, but now they are almost unstoppable.”

Arsenal are the only team I can see who maybe have a chance of challenging City. The rest? I don't think they can.”

“I watched nearly all of Manchester City's games in the Champions League last season. I couldn't win it when I was there, but I'm so happy for the club that they were finally able to do it.”

“They deserve it. The club deserves it; the supporters deserve to win the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup – the Treble. It was an amazing achievement.”

Arsenal pushed Manchester City all the way in the title race last season. However, injuries in key areas of the squad made them stumble toward the finishing line. On the other end, Guardiola’s men were decisive and stormed to the finishing line.

After the signings of Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz, the Gunners are expected to battle Manchester City again for the title race. They are currently two points behind the Citizens after four Premier League games. Arsenal would also be facing the challenge of Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur this season.
