Paul Pogba hasn't been happy at Manchester United for quite some time, with the midfielder constantly being linked with a move away from the club. His current contract at Old Trafford is set to expire this summer, with the likes of PSG, Juventus, and Real Madrid interested.
However, there is evidently one team that Pogba is very interested in playing for next: Paris. Why? Because he would get to play with his international teammates on a regular basis.
Manchester United isn't exactly accomplishing big things this season, bowing out in the Champions League at the Round of 16 to Atletico Madrid last week. They're also barely fighting for a UCL spot in the Premier League. The 29-year-old wants to compete for silverware.
Pogba missed substantial time in 2021-22 due to injury and evidently isn't enjoying life in Manchester anymore. With his contract set to expire and no extension in sight, it feels like a foregone conclusion he will leave Manchester United.
The France international also revealed recently to French newspaper Le Figaro that he's dealt with depression during his time with the Red Devils, dating back to when Jose Mourinho was in charge:
“From a personal perspective, that started when I was with José Mourinho at Manchester United. You ask yourself if there is something wrong with you, because you have never experienced these moments in your life.
“Of course we earn a lot of money and we don’t complain, really. But that does not prevent you from going through these moments in your life – like the whole world – which are more difficult than others. In football it is not acceptable but we are not superheroes, we are only human beings.”
Paul Pogba is clearly fighting some personal demons on and off the pitch. A change of scenery could be the best thing for him. After all, he's been at Manchester United since 2016.
