Portugal national team manager Fernando Santos thrashes Manchester United's tactical approach on Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cr7 recently experienced a drop in his playing time— far from the club legend's usual scenario. The Portuguese star was benched in the first half of Man United's home game against Everton.

Santos apparently lambasted Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision, stressing that Ronaldo needs full playing time to keep his momentum going.

“He [Ronaldo] will go to the game [against Qatar] because he needs playing time. It’s important to him at this stage, Santos shared.

“The last full game he played was in the Champions League [against Villarreal on September 29].

“If he only plays against Luxembourg, he will have practically 15 days without playing with intensity.

Manchester United has struggled in recent matches for a team that generated significant hype over the summer, narrowly winning against subpar opponents and unexpectedly dropping some fixtures.

“At this point, I will say that there are strong possibilities of Ronaldo going to the game against Qatar, either starting or coming on later during the second half, so that the competitive rhythms are at their maximum against Luxembourg,” the Portuguese manager stressed.

Portugal's boss indeed made good use of Ronaldo during Portugal's  3-0 win against Qatar, which is why fans should expect the Portuguese captain to play throughout the entire international break.

The Red Devils are set to face Leicester City on Saturday, making fans eager on how Solskjaer responds to the call of action for Ronaldo to see more action on the pitch.
