It's that wonderful time of the year where dreams are made for many at the announcement of the MLB All-Star Game rosters. This year was no different and one of the more hilarious stories comes from the Miami Marlins.

Trevor Rogers has been sensational for Miami this year. The Marlins have sputtered but the problems have been from the offensive side of things as the pitching staff has been really good for manager Don Mattingly.

Rogers is boasting a 2.14 ERA across 16 starts this year in just his second year in the big leagues. Rogers has a K/9 of 10.7 and a WHIP of 1.04 to go along with all his other stellar numbers for the Marlins. And now, he's an all-star as well but he found out by being on the receiving end of a hilarious prank.

Imagine having the year Rogers has had so far only to get called into Don Mattingly's office to be told you're being sent down to the minors right before the break. Rogers handled it well but it was evident he was more than baffled by what he was hearing.

When Mattingly asks if home (New Mexico for Rogers) is close to Colorado, Rogers doesn't catch on so Mattingly finally tells him straight up he's and all-star. Rogers response of asking if the send down to the minors was a joke is the cherry on top.

The MLB All-Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 13th at 7:30pm EST. Rogers will be representing the Marlins after a stellar start to the season in Miami.
