The latest update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is now live, bringing a host of new features, gameplay enhancements, and exciting new suits for players to enjoy. Available since June 18, this update continues Insomniac Games’ tradition of responding to community feedback and enriching the gaming experience.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 June Update Adds Eight New Suits

The highlight of the Spider-Man 2 update is the addition of eight new suits for Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The introduction of these new costumes comes as a response to fan feedback, which pointed out that the initial lineup of suits at launch was limited compared to previous games in the series. Despite the inclusion of long-awaited options like Andrew Garfield’s suit from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, many players felt that the variety was lacking.

To address these concerns, Insomniac Games has progressively expanded the suit selection through free updates. The latest batch includes four returning suits from Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Peter Parker can now swing through New York in his Last Stand Suit and the animated Into the Spider-Verse costume. Meanwhile, Miles Morales can don his black-and-gold Uptown Pride Suit and a cel-shaded Animated Suit.

In addition to these familiar outfits, four brand new suits make their debut in this update. These costumes were designed in collaboration with celebrity fashion designer Colm “KidSuper” Dillane, pop star and actress Rina Sawayama, Formula One driver Lando Norris, and football player Vinicius Junior. This creative partnership has resulted in a diverse array of styles, including the Motorchic Suit and Fluro Suit for Peter Parker. The Motorchic Suit is inspired by motorcycle culture, while the Fluro Suit draws on racing aesthetics. Miles Morales gains the soccer-themed Ginga Suit and the Metro Suit, which features KidSuper’s distinctive “puffer” style. Each suit also comes with different color variants, offering players even more options to customize their Spider-Man experience.

Gameplay And Accessibility Enhancements

Beyond the new costumes, the June update introduces significant gameplay changes aimed at enhancing the overall experience. One notable addition is the ability to swap between Spider Arms and Symbiote abilities for parry and traversal actions. This new feature, added in response to player feedback, can be accessed under the GAMEPLAY settings. Players can choose from three modes: Default, Symbiote, and Spider Arms. Each mode provides a different gameplay feel, allowing players to tailor their experience to their preferences.

Accessibility options have also been expanded in this update. New features include “Look At Waypoint” support for the opening circuit box and an “Activity Skip” option for the Spider-Bot section. Additionally, a “Skip Puzzle” option has been added for the tether puzzle in the Homecoming mission. These additions aim to make the game more accessible to a wider audience by simplifying some of the more complex gameplay elements.

Patch Notes And Fixes

The latest patch notes reveal a comprehensive list of fixes and improvements that address various issues reported by players. A significant fix involves the Symbiote Suit transformation issue in New Game+, ensuring that players now consistently transform into the Symbiote Suit when entering Surge. The frequency of Symbiote finishers has also been increased in New Game+, addressing complaints that they were previously too rare.

Other fixes include resolving issues with street signs not displaying properly in the open world and addressing problems with Depth of Field not working in Photo Mode. Several mission-specific bugs and gameplay mechanics have also been refined to improve the overall player experience.
