The country of Puerto Rico was left severely damaged after Hurricane Maria's direct hit. People are now struggling with little food and supplies to get them by and are desperately waiting for donations to reach them. It is truly one of the tougher times in their history, and it will take a lot for the Puerto Ricans to stand up once gain.

If there’s any good news though, it has drawn citizens of other countries united by donating basic necessities which are being brought to them round the clock. One of those is Dallas Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea, a Puerto Rico native, who asked team owner Mark Cuban if he can borrow the Mavs’ plane to personally drop off some supplies to the victims, and also to pick up his mom and grandmother.

The hurricane hit the Caribbean island, leaving almost the entire country devastated based on previous reports and photos that have been making their rounds on the internet.

Similar to what Houston and Florida experienced earlier this month, lives have been lost, along with incalculable damages to the livelihood of millions of people. J.J. Barea is lucky to have resources loaned to him, and that Cuban was kind enough to share what he had, but many are not as fortunate as him, and will need every kind of help they can get until the country fully recovers from the wrath of Mother Nature.
