Mavs big man Boban Marjanovic is relatively new to the organization, but he's already grown to respect Luka Doncic — both on and off the court.

Marjanovic joined the Mavs on a two-year, $7 million deal back in July. The 7-4 Serbian recently spoke about what he's seen in Luka as part of an interview with Eurohoops, noting that it's “amazing to be around him:”

“He’s awesome. He helps the team a lot. I really enjoy watching him play. He makes something new every night, a new move or something that surprises everybody. It’s amazing to be around him. He’s a great player and what is more important, a great person,” Marjanovic told Eurohoops.

“I didn’t know him personally but Luka is a great guy, he makes the team better,” Marjanovic added. “He made me think about how much of an all-around player he is. Helps the team, a nice teammate, passes the ball to everybody and score his points. I don’t know how many people can do that in this world and he gets better every game.”

Doncic, now 20 years of age, is enjoying a fantastic second season of NBA service. The Slovenian-born star has made 28 appearances with the Mavs in this campaign, racking up averages of 28.8 points on 47.4 percent shooting from the field (32.4 percent from beyond the arc), 9.5 rebounds, 9.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.0 minutes per outing.

Luka was briefly placed in the NBA's concussion protocol program in the first half of the Mavs' Sunday loss to the Lakers. He took a hard fall while driving to the hoop but was later cleared to return.

“It was scary,” Doncic said of his fall, via ESPN. “I fell on my back, hit my head and my elbow. I was OK.”

The Mavs will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll travel to Oklahoma City for a matchup against the Thunder. Tip-off inside Chesapeake Energy Arena is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
