Dallas Mavericks teammates Boban Marjanovic and Luka Doncic have formed a unique bond. They've become extremely close ever since the 7-foot-4 big man joined the Mavs last summer. So much so, that Boban recently likened his relationship to '90's cult classic movie “Dumb and Dumber.”
Boban recently faced reporters in a Mavs media availability event, and when asked to describe his friendship with Doncic, this is what the 32-year-old veteran had to say:
Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels starred in the 1994 comedy that has since become a cult favorite. We can almost imagine Luka and Boban taking on the role of the two main characters in the movie.
Interestingly, Boban was asked towards the end of the above clip to share his favorite Doncic story with the Mavs. Marjanovic opted to keep mum about it, deferring to his younger teammate to tell the tale himself. This should make for a good story, and we just hope Doncic ends up sharing it with all of us. As it is, this could be the most significant mystery entering the new season.
All jokes aside, though, it's great to hear how Marjanovic seems to have found a home in Dallas. He expressed how much joy he takes in going to practice every single day — something that not all NBA players can say with such exuberance. It just goes to show the type of positive (and infectious) attitude Boban comes with day in and day out.
It comes as no surprise that he is considered by his colleagues — both past and present — as one of their favorite teammates. We're pretty sure Doncic himself would agree with this sentiment.
