The Dallas Mavericks have concluded their investigation and handed out punishments for Sunday's incident involving Chris Paul's family and a couple of Mavs fans.
To recall, Paul got heated after some fans apparently touched his mom and pushed his wife. The kids of the Phoenix Suns star also reportedly “felt very unsafe” after witnessing the situation. The fans in question were swiftly ejected from the arena, with a video even showing CP3 getting heated with the culprits.

It blew up even more when the veteran guard tweeted his dismay that players get fined for saying stuff to fans, but the supporters can easily harass their family members.
Upon investigation, the Mavs revealed that the “unruly fans” tried to give “unwanted hugs” to Paul's family. Now, they are banned in the American Airlines Center for a year.
Here's the Mavs' statement on the incident, per Shams Charania of The Athletic:
Article Continues BelowAmerican Airlines Center and Dallas Mavericks security and executives have concluded the investigation into the incident involving the Paul family. Two unruly fans attempted to give unwanted hugs and have conversations with members of the Paul family on the public concourse of American Airlines Center. AAC security responded immediately once notified by the family and the fans were swiftly ejected from the game. The fans involved in the incident will not be allowed to return to the arena until 2023.
Hopefully, such incidents won't happen again or will at least be prevented. Considering the tense atmosphere in the playoffs, visitors can certainly feel unsafe in the opponents' arena.
While there doesn't seem to be any malicious intention in what happened, it is still a learning experience for both Mavs and Suns fans. Respect should always be given no matter what the situation is.
Now, the Suns head back home for Game 5 after the Mavs protected their homecourt and tied the series.
