The Dallas Mavericks are embroiled in a controversy regarding workplace misconduct. In a report released Wednesday, the NBA found the Mavs had, “Serious workplace misconduct by former and current employees,” and “improper or ineffective management” per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The report centered around former president and CEO of the Mavericks, Terdema Ussery, whose severe misconduct with 15 current or former employees was substantiated by the report.

This isn't a good look for the Mavs, but Mark Cuban and the team are looking to move past this troublesome story. In the investigation, it was found that Cuban had no knowledge of the improper workplace conduct toward fifteen female employees.

The report clears Cuban's name in that regard, but it's obvious that there was a problem with the leadership in Dallas.

Cuban prides himself on being a hands-on owner, but in this instance, he allowed his organization's workplace environment to deteriorate. It appears that Cuban is fully committed to changing the culture and ensuring this doesn't happen again, but it doesn't change the fact that it happened on his watch.

As troubling a situation as it is in Dallas, the hope is that this makes everyone take a look at their workplace culture. This type of behavior is wholly unacceptable in a workplace and every team in the NBA should take a closer look at their organization to ensure these same kinds of things are happening.
