Jalen Brunson put the Dallas Mavericks on his shoulders in Tuesday's 110-104 Game 2 victory over the Utah Jazz to tie the series at 1-1. With the Luka Doncic-less Mavs facing the prospect of falling 2-0 down in the series, Brunson stepped it up for his team in a major way.

The 25-year-old exploded for a career-high 41 points en route to joining Luka Doncic and Dirk Nowitzki for a Mavs' all-time playoffs scoring record (h/t StatMuse on Twitter):

Brunson's 41-point effort makes him just the fifth player in Mavs franchise history to score at least 40 points in the playoffs. That's an extremely short list and for his part, Brunson has just etched his name with a handful of all-time greats.

Brunson dropped 41 all over Donovan Mitchell and the Jazz on 15-of-25 shooting. He went 6-of-10 from 3-point territory to go along with eight rebounds, five assists, two steals, and zero turnovers (!!) in 42 minutes of action.

Luka Doncic missed Game 2 again and it remains to be seen if he will be able to suit up for Game 3 in Utah. Either way, the Mavs have found themselves a new star in Jalen Brunson, who has carried his outstanding form from the regular season to the playoffs.
