Kristaps Porzingis admitted he is playing through a lot of pain for the Dallas Mavericks right now. The 7-foot-3 big man, who just returned from a two-game absence due to a bothersome wrist, gave the personal update in the aftermath of their 102-93 loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.

Winners of their last five games entering the road game at Toyota Center, the Mavericks struggled mightily against the lowly Rockets in Porzingis' return.

The 25-year-old center from Latvia recorded a double-double effort of 23 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 10-of-19 from the field.

The Mavericks defense, however, had no answer for John Wall's 31 points, while Porzingis was unable to contain Christian Wood who added 22 points and 10 boards.

Porzingis' admission could be a problematic issue for the Mavericks moving forward, especially with the NBA Playoffs just around the corner. The one-time All-Star has already missed significant time this season due to health issues. His compromised situation could further hurt their chances of holding on to the precarious 7th spot in the loaded Western Conference.

While he looked fine against the Rockets, it is worth noting that he is experiencing wrist pain on his shooting hand. Porzingis, who has a long history of major injuries, is actually shooting a career-best 47.4 percent for the Mavericks in 31 games this season. Before Wednesday's game, he was putting up averages of 20.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks. It remains to be seen how his latest injury could affect his efficiency on the floor.

But for now, Kristaps Porzingis is willing to soldier on and help his team any chance he can.
