Mavs All-Star Kristaps Porzingis is currently recovering from an ACL injury, but that isn't stopping him from packing on a few pounds of muscle in the gym.

On Wednesday morning, Porzingis posted a photo to his Instagram account that was taken during his workout routine. As you'll see in the image, the Latvian-born star has bulked up quite a bit:

Some experts and analysts have knocked Porzingis for his size in the past. If he comes back from rehab looking like this, however, those same experts will need to change their tune.

Porzingis was traded to the Mavs on January 31 as part of a multi-player deal. However, the 24-year-old big man sat out the remainder of the season due to his ACL injury. In July, he agreed to re-sign with the Mavericks on a five-year maximum contract.

At this point, it's not clear when Porzingis will be cleared for action. When October rolls around, it will be roughly 20 months since he played in an NBA game. When he is ready to come back, though, the Mavs will likely keep an eye on his playing time. He's looked good in workouts and practices, according to reports, but there is still no official timetable for his return.

The Mavs finished the 2018-19 regular season campaign with a 33-49 overall record, which left the team out of playoff contention. Hopefully, with Porzingis on-track to recovery and Luka Doncic continuing to develop, Dallas will find their way back into the hunt.
