After the Dallas Mavericks' heartbreaking loss to the Toronto Raptors, Kristaps Porzingis shared his thoughts on the matter, noting that the Mavs did not just react properly to the opposing team's pressure and energy.

In their 110-107 loss, the Mavericks practically controlled the majority of the game against the defending champions. But come the fourth quarter, the Nick Nurse-led squad outscored them 47-21.

The Raptors mounted a fullcourt press which rendered the Mavs helpless. The Rick Carlisle-led squad committed seven turnovers in the fourth quarter alone and shot just 17 percent from the floor.

Coupled with their stifling defense, the Raptors were red hot from the field. Veteran guard Kyle Lowry dropped 20 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter.

It's a tough blow to the young Mavs squad who have split the last four games (2-2) without Luka Doncic. Analysts have seemed to hold the team to a higher standard given their performance thus far in the 2019-20 season.

Critics are not ruminating on the fact that the Mavs — at least in the first three quarters — held their own against the defending champions. They are concentrating on the fact that they already have the victory in the bag but collapsed in the fourth. A loss is a loss. It'll be tough for the Mavs to move on from this defeat. Their resilience will be tested in the next few games.
