For Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Luka Doncic has a better business mind than most ‘MBAs' that the billionaire knows.

In an interview with Tim Cato of The Athletic, Cuban was asked how Doncic is like behind the curtain. While Luka Doncic proudly showcases his talents on the court, he seems reticent to display his own personality in interviews. From Cuban's observation, Doncic is “a lot smarter at business” than most MBAs, noting that the Slovenian “understands his brand” and its positioning “very, very well.”

“He’s a lot more street-savvy than people give him credit for. He’s a lot smarter than people give him credit for. He’s very business-oriented. He understands markets and marketing very, very well. He understands his brand and his brand’s positioning very, very well. He’s really smart when it comes to business. He obviously doesn’t have an MBA, but he’s a lot smarter at business than a lot of MBAs I know. And on the court, actually, what we saw from Luka was how hard he worked over the summer and it paid off on the court. That’s who he is. And that’s the most exciting part about Luka: not just his talent, but how hard he works to improve his talent.”

This is certainly a lot coming from Cuban, who's not just the owner and diehard Mavs fan, but is also a savvy entrepreneur who owns several businesses.

Given this, is Doncic the next face of the league? Will his talents on the court trickle on over to plenty of business opportunities? If his massive shoe deal with Nike recently is any indication, maybe he will.
