Everyone that is involved with the Dallas Mavericks organization, from the fans to the stadium and team employees all the way up to head coach Jason Kidd and owner Mark Cuban can all breathe a sigh of relief, as Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported on Tuesday that imaging on Luka Doncic's left ankle and knee did not show any structural damage.

Doncic is still expected to miss time, but a lengthy absence is not expected, per ESPN's Tim MacMahon. Marc Stein says he's expected to be out for Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns.

The Mavericks seem to have dodged a huge bullet here with the injury not looking to be of the long-term variety. Still, Dallas' upcoming four-game stretch is one that it might not be able to handle without one of the best players in the game. With road games against the Suns and Los Angeles Clippers (twice) followed by a home matchup with the East-leading Washington Wizards, it is no cakewalk by any stretch.

Dallas currently is sitting at 9-4, and if Luka is forced to miss even four games, this team could easily be looking at 10-7 by the time he returns, or possibly even 9-8. The Mavericks are going to get a little bit of a taste of what their fellow Western Conference compatriots are dealing with. The Clippers have had Kawhi Leonard out all year, the Warriors have not yet had Klay Thompson, the Nuggets have been without Jamal Murray and now Michael Porter Jr — and we all know about how much time LeBron James has missed.

How they handle the time that their star misses (if any) can be the difference at the end of the year in which seed they are.
