Dallas Mavericks stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis have reacted with heavy hearts following the death of soccer legend Diego Maradona. Having played for Real Madrid's basketball team for a number of years before coming over to the NBA, Doncic is a huge fan of soccer and the Mavs superstar expressed his feelings to Maradona's passing on Twitter:

The Slovenian star is an avid follower of Real Madrid's soccer team and coming from Europe, it's the most popular sport on the continent.

Porzingis, who hails from Latvia, also mourned the passing of Maradona on social media.

Maradona, who was just 60-years old, underwent successful brain surgery at the start of November for the removal of a blood clot. Now just two weeks after he was released on November 12th, the Argentina legend is gone.

Diego Maradona, who was the coach of Gimnasia y Esgrima in his home country, had been admitted to hospital on several occasions since his retirement. He almost died of cocaine-induced heart failure in 2000 and underwent years of rehabilitation.

Kobe Bryant's passing earlier this year was a huge shock to the entire world and even though Maradona had his issues off the pitch with drugs and alcohol, it's still very devastating to see him go earlier than expected. It's clearly touched those on the Mavs. Rest in peace.
