Wesley Matthews made his return to Dallas on Wednesday for the first time since the Mavs traded him, and the swingman got a great video tribute from the organization.

Now with the Indiana Pacers, Matthews said he was actually surprised he got a video tribute, but was very appreciative of the video and the reception he got from the fans in Dallas:

Wesley Matthews played four seasons for the Mavs. Dallas traded him, along with DeAndre Jordan and Dennis Smith Jr. to the New York Knicks in the Kristaps Porzingis trade. Matthews and the Knicks agreed on a buyout which allowed him to sign with the Pacers.

The Mavs are one of the classiest organizations in the NBA. Owner Mark Cuban has always treated his players the right way. You never hear any ex-Dallas player say anything bad about the franchise.

In 258 games with the Mavs, Matthews averaged 12.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from beyond the arc. The veteran forward signed a four-year, $70 million free agent deal with Dallas in the summer of 2015.

Matthews says his return to Dallas was great, but he wishes the Pacers had won the game. Indiana lost by a final score of 110-101.
