Dallas Mavericks point guard Seth Curry eventually wound up spending the majority of his collegiate career at Duke University, though he was not heavily recruited coming out of high school. In fact, the Mavs guard spent his freshman season at Liberty University prior to transferring to Duke to play for coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Interestingly enough, Curry blames his lack of recruitment on his mother, Sonya, who spoke to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski regarding Seth's prep years on The Woj Pod (via AirrQuote):

Seth blames it on me because there is a big tournament that all the coaches were coming and his name was being thrown out there who do watch that weekend. And he decided he wasn't gonna come in for curfew from a prom or homecoming. And I told him you're not going to the tournament.

Of course, Seth's older brother Stephen Curry was not recruited very heavily, either. Steph ended up at Davidson College, where a dazzling display during the 2008 NCAA Tournament helped prompt his meteoric rise.

Seth's career took a different path. While he was a key contributor in his three seasons at Duke, Curry was not selected during the 2013 NBA Draft. He bounced around the G League before landing with the Sacramento Kings during the 2015-16 season.

Curry got his first real taste of NBA action in Sacramento, and he had a much larger role with the Mavs the following year.

After a one-year stint with the Portland Trail Blazers, Curry is back in Dallas, and he is playing some excellent basketball.

The 29-year-old is averaging 12.5 points while shooting nearly 46 percent from beyond the arc on 5.1 attempts per game. Curry has been a key bench piece for a Mavs team looking to make some noise in the playoffs.

Curry's days of being overlooked seem to be a thing of the past considering that he's thriving with the Mavs.
