Spencer Dinwiddie delivered another game-winner for the Dallas Mavericks, this time against the Brooklyn Nets, on Wednesday. Making it even more amazing, however, is the fact that he apparently promised to do it.

According to his Mavs teammate Theo Pinson, Dinwiddie really told him that he is going to take the winning shot for the Mavs. While Pinson did not reveal when Dinwiddie actually said it–before the game or moments before the buzzer-beater–it takes a lot of confidence and guts to make that kind of declaration.

Mavs fans will not have any problem with that kind of confidence, though. In fact, they'll most likely welcome it given the fact that the team is lacking a second star behind Luka Doncic.

The Slovenian guard needs all the help he can get, and having someone beside him who can deliver in crucial situations is extremely crucial. Doncic often attracts the defense since everyone knows he takes the big shots for Dallas, so with Dinwiddie showing his clutch genes, Dallas becomes more dangerous.

Case in point: Dinwiddie delivered his buzzer-beater against the Nets off another Luka assist after the superstar guard commanded a double-team. The same thing happened against the Boston Celtics when Doncic attacked the basket to leave Dinwiddie wide-open from deep.

The Mavs' trade for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans is certainly paying off big time. While there were initial doubts that they can produce for Dallas, all those concerns have been erased.

Dinwiddie and Bertans are fitting in nicely, and it's safe to say they found a new home in Dallas.
