The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly interested in Patrick Beverley and Nikola Mirotic, according to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News. The Mavs and Beverley reportedly plan to meet at the start of free agency.

Both Beverley and Mirotic are unrestricted free agents this summer. Beverley played with the Los Angeles Clippers this past season, while Mirotic split time between the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks:

Sources told The Dallas Morning News on Monday night that Dallas and Beverley regard one another as a “perfect fit,” although that's a long way from saying he's on the verge of joining Doncic in the Mavericks' backcourt.

A source said that while the Mavericks and Beverley plan to meet at the start of free agency, the time and site of that meeting had not been set as oif Monday night.

A source said the Mavericks also have shown interest in 6-foot-10 small forward/power forward Mirotic, but that he is further down their wish list than Beverley.

Beverley averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Clippers. The Chicago native shot 40.7 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line. The Mavs could pair Beverley with Luka Doncic in the backcourt and put Beverley on the opposing team's best guard since Luka isn't that good of a defender.

With the Bucks, Mirotic averaged 11.6 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from beyond the arc. Dallas will get Kristaps Porzingis back next season. Having two stretch forwards next to Doncic would make the Mavs' offense very lethal.
