Indie developer VestGames and publisher Versus Evil announced a new multiplayer social deduction game Eville, set to launch on PC via Steam Early Access in 2022.

In Eville, players take roles of different villagers in the once peaceful village of Eville. A mysterious murder has just taken place, and the villagers will have to work together to unmask the killer and their co-conspirators. The killer's crew is set to take over the village, and unless the villagers do something, then Eville will fall into the hands of evil. Built upon a solid foundation of deceit, slander, and manipulation, Eville casts players into randomly assigned roles with every session each with unique abilities, skills, and advantages.

The different villager roles players can be assigned include the Mayor, who can influence voting and village stature; the Trapper, who can set traps; the Detective, who can investigate suspicious villagers; or the Slanderer, who can talk smack, cast doubts and aspersions about the other players. These are just a few of the roles available in the game. Whichever role you end up with, you will have to use your social skills to uncover the mystery.

The game will feature a day and night cycle, with the villagers going about their daily lives during the day, and taking rest at their homes at night. Unless, of course, they're cahoots with the murderer, who is most active at night.

Players can now pre-order Eville on the Steam Store here.
