The New York Mets made a huge blockbuster acquisition of Javy Baez from the Chicago Cubs at the MLB trade deadline. Baez has enjoyed his new threads thus far, although Sunday didn't go as planned for the talented Mets star.

According to Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News, Baez left the game early against the Philadelphia Phillies and was tending to his hip.

That is not what the Mets want at all, as they are trying their best to get back to the top of the National League East and already have to find a way to stay afloat without Jacob deGrom.

Baez has gotten off to a bit of a slow start since joining the Mets, as he is hitting just .188 with six hits and a pair of home runs and has struck out 13 times. Still, he is a valuable part of the lineup, hence why they traded for him at the deadline.

The Phillies are ahead of the Mets by a game and a half as of Sunday, and the Atlanta Braves are just half a game back of the Mets themselves, so losing Baez for any amount of time would be a huge blow to this team.

Stay tuned for more updates on Baez, but the fact he left the game early doesn't bode well for his chances.
