Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold had one of the best rivalries in the UFC. The two middleweights fought two times and had countless verbal exchanges that made for legendary moments.
Luke Rockhold makes an appearance in Michael Bisping's documentary, ‘Bisping: The Michael Bisping Story.' The former UFC champion surprised many people with his appearance in the documentary considering the two aren't exactly friends.
“We were very lucky and fair play to Luke Rockhold,” Bisping told ClutchPoints about the people who appeared in the documentary. “Everyone that's spoken on it, there's a lot of actors, a lot of MMA talent, there's Vin Diesel, Mickey Rourke, Scott Adkins. Michael Jai White, the list goes on. It's pretty special. But Luke Rockhold started training at the RVCA training center, where I train, where I used to train, I'm not in there every day anymore. They were down there filming Jason Parillo, and they said, ‘Hey, do you think there's any chance Luke will come on?' And he very, very kindly agreed, so shout out to Luke for that one.”
The relationship between the two is a little tricky as they are not exactly friends. There was a video of the two former UFC champions training together a few years ago that blew up the internet.
Michael Bisping wouldn't exactly say he's friends with Luke Rockhold. Six years later though and it's fair to say the two UFC legends aren't mortal enemies anymore.
“I wouldn't say we're friends. We don't exchange messages and things like that. But come on, it's all water under the bridge. I'm a grown man. Me and Luke were rivals at the time. We're no longer rivals. I'm a retired fighter. He's still doing his thing. I always said that Daniel Cormier is one of the best human beings you'll meet. For Daniel Cormier to have a great relationship with Luke. He can't be bad. I'm sure if I meet him under different circumstances, we would have been fine. So yeah, Luke's a great guy. I wish him all the best.”
