Michael Porter Jr. presents an interesting problem for the Denver Nuggets. Outside of Nikola Jokic, he has the highest upside of any player on their team. He also is the biggest trade piece for the franchise.

On the daily Locked On Nuggets Podcast, hosts Matt Moore and Adam Mares discuss Michael Porter Jr.'s fit with the starting unit and why it's still the biggest question for the Denver Nuggets.

Matt Moore: I still think he comes off the bench. I want to basically handcuff him to JaMychal Green. That's what I want to do. I want all of his minutes tied with JaMychal green. Now my hot take is that Denver should move both JaMychal Green and Michael Porter Jr. into the starting unit. Since the bench unit is playing well right now, do you think it's better to have the balance between the starters and the bench? Or to optimize the starting unit? What do you think?

Adam Mares: It's really tough, I don't think that it's just those two things. I think there are other factors that come into play. What's your long term plan with Michael Porter? In fact, I think it's still the biggest one. You could tell me it makes sense because the benches rolling. To me, the season is not a success unless you figure out if Michael Porter Jr. is going to work for you or not with that starting group. That's going to take time… As well as he's played I still feel like there's going to be some bumps ahead so to me unfortunately that that's my answer they need to get those reps with him… But I do agree with you that I think that him at the four or him alongside JaMychal Green is kind of a key.
