The Michigan football team has completed its Spring Game season and is now looking toward fall with an eye on four-peating as Big Ten Champions. Michigan football is also gunning for a second straight national championship with new head coach Sherrone Moore at the helm of the Wolverines' arsenal of playmakers on both sides of the football.

On Tuesday, Michigan raided the kitchen cupboard in Columbus, Ohio yet again, hiring former Ohio State football assistant Erin Dunstin to be the new Director of Operations with the Wolverines.

The news came amid a Donovan Edwards ‘promise' regarding the Michigan football culture moving forward without Jim Harbaugh. Moore also dropped a surprising new revelation on the Chargers boss himself, Coach Jim Harbaugh.

The addition of Dunston is a surprising one, but it speaks to the direction Moore is currently taking the Michigan program in.

Dunston served as the Ohio State football Assistant Athletic Director of Football Recruiting and Events prior to the announcement, which was shared by 247Sports.com on Tuesday.

An industry insider source told the website that Dunston is an ‘absolute rock star' at her job, as she was promoted to assistant AD in February after serving the previous three years as director of on-campus recruiting.

Dunston will now handle Michigan football's planning and logistics. She will report to Scott Goldschmidt, the Michigan football Associate Athletic Director of Operations. Dunston will also have the ability to help Michigan's Director of On-Campus Recruiting Kayli Johnson, her former mentee, in on-campus recruiting plans and efforts, the website added.

Michigan football previously hired former Ohio State football running backs coach Tony Alford for the same role.

One presumed Ohio State fan reacted to a previous post on X of Dunston's with vitriol after the news was announced.

Michigan football 2024 fall outlook

Michigan football's current roster is in search of a starting quarterback and must choose between Alex Orji, Davis Warren, Jack Tuttle, Jayden Denegal and Jayden Davis. The Wolverines don't have one proven, star caliber option at the position but all of the contending players have a chance to become plus-starters in the Big Ten Conference.

Orji played in all of Michigan's biggest games last season as a runner but did not throw a single pass. For Michigan to become a contender, the Wolverines must get their running game in high gear between Donovan Edwards, backup Kalel Mullings and Benjamin Hall.

The Wolverines' offensive line returns players with starting experience including Myles Hinton and Giovanni el-Hadi, giving the Wolverines a strong foundation to build from which will allow their quarterbacks room to develop in due time.
