The college football transfer portal has only been open for a few days, but there have already been more than 1,200 players to enter it. It seems like every year the portal option is becoming more popular for college football players, and that seems like this case this season. One player that is already getting a lot of attention is UCLA football quarterback Dante Moore. Moore was a true freshman this season for the Bruins, and he grew up in Detroit, Michigan, Because of that, he is getting attention from the Michigan football team as the Wolverines recruited him heavily out of high school.

For awhile, it looked like Dante Moore was going to commit to the Michigan football program out of high school. Given his close proximity to the school and the success that the Wolverines have been having, it made a lot of sense, but he ended up getting swayed by some schools out West, and that's how he ended up with UCLA.

Now, Bruins head coach Chip Kelly will no longer be with the team next season, and Moore is hitting the transfer portal. Michigan has been in contact with Moore since he entered the portal on Monday night, according to an article from On3. As soon as his name went in, many people expected that this would be the case.

Moore was a five-star recruit in high school and he got a lot of playing time during his freshman season at UCLA. He was the starting QB for awhile, but he had some struggles at times. He finished the season 114/213 through the air for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. It wasn't perfect, but that is fairly common for a true freshman starting for a power five college football team.

The Michigan football team will likely need a new starting QB next season as most people are expecting JJ McCarthy to move on to the NFL after this year. The next QB for the Wolverines will likely come from the portal, and there's a decent chance that it could end up being Moore.

If Michigan offers Moore, it would certainly be a great option for the rising sophomore. The Wolverines are about to play in the College Football Playoff for the third consecutive season, they are ranked #1 in the country and Moore would be close to home. There is a lot about this situation that makes sense for both parties.
