The Giants will turn to Kevin Gausman in the finale. The 30-year-old right-hander allowed just two hits and one earned run in 6.2 innings in the opener against Seattle. He will enter this one with the luxury of not having to see young slugger Fernando Tatis Jr. step into the box.

The San Diego Padres will send out their newly acquired left-hander Blake Snell for the second time in 2021. The former AL Cy Young award winner had a strong debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing four hits and no runs in 4.2 innings of work. He is an integral part of the Padres newly assembled pitching rotation that they hope will get them over the edge this season. Luckily for Snell, the Padres already possess one of the most potent lineups in all of baseball.
It's always a nice luxury for a pitcher knowing that they'll be throwing with a lead more times than not. San Diego's lineup is currently hitting .265/.374/.432 on the young season. It's clear what you're going to get from Padre bats on a nightly basis. The same can't be said about the San Francisco Giants, though.
