The MLB recently made the shocking announcement that regular season game would start getting canceled if a new CBA isn't signed by February 28. With seemingly no progress being made in talks between the players and owners, Opening Day is in serious jeopardy. MLB agent Scott Boras, known for being a tough negotiator himself, shed some light on the talks between the two sides with a savage call out of the league's ridiculous offer to the players, as reported by Jon Heyman.

The MLB won't pay the players if the regular season games end up being canceled. Agent Scott Boras savagely said that “when you're offering bear traps, it's hard to attract bears.” Essentially, how could the MLB possibly think that threatening the players with no pay would make them want to willingly come to the negotiating table?
Heyman sums things up well also, noting that the players haven't yet heard an offer they wanted to accept, a sentiment reiterated by San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Wood, who sent out a tweet following the MLB's regular season announcement.

As Wood says, the players feel that the owners have yet to make a “good faith offer” and are now threatening the status of regular season games. If Boras' and Wood's comments are any indication, this threat by the MLB and the owners will only serve to alienate the players even more.
