We're back with yet another betting prediction and pick for UFC Vegas 90 as we turn our attention towards the Featherweight (145) Division for this potential ‘Fight of the Night' candidate. France's Morgan Charriere will take on Elevation Fight Team's own Chepe Mariscal. Check out our UFC odds series for our Charriere-Mariscal prediction and pick.

Morgan Charriere (19-9-1) has gone 1-0 following his UFC debut victory over Manolo Zecchini back in 2023. He's a former champion from the Cage Warriors promotion in the U.K. and he's won his last three consecutive fights by KO/TKO. He'll come into this fight as the slight betting favorite against another game opponent. Charriere stands 5'8″ with a 69-inch reach.

Chepe Mariscal (15-6) has gone out to a nice 2-0 start to his UFC career following wins over tough opponents in Trevor Peek and Jack Jenkins. His last win marked his fifth consecutive and he's 2-2 on providing fans with an exciting fight each time he steps out. He'll come into this bout as a slight underdog. Mariscal stands 5'7″ with a 69-inch reach.

Why Morgan Charriere Will Win

Morgan Charriere is yet another promising prospect coming out of France and he has a solid camp and room of UFC-level fighters that helped him prepare ahead of this one. Charriere has a very aggressive striking style and he like to pressure his opponents from the opening bell. He's also very quick with his hands and has great power behind his shots. His true expertise is in the grappling and he does a tremendous job of transitioning from takedowns to back control and beating opponents from there.

Morgan Charriere will be the slight favorite in this matchup due to his explosiveness and ability to grapple with Chepe Mariscal. Typically Mariscal is the better grappler in his matchups, but Charriere will be able to go shot-for-shot with him in defending and creating takedowns. Don't be surprised if Morgan Charriere decides to remain on his feet during this one and test the will of Chepe Mariscal's chin once again.

Why Chepe Mariscal Will Win

Chepe Mariscal is quickly becoming a featherweight to watch and his performances up to this point have been nothing short of electric. He was thrown into the fire on both occasions through his first two fights and took down other up-and-coming prospects in the division. Following a pull-out from Seung Woo Choi, Chepe Mariscal will once again step in on short-notice to take this fight. If his previous fights are any indication of what could happen here, we should be in-store for a barn burner of a fight.

Chepe Mariscal is very technical with his hands and he does a great job of parrying punches and slipping in his own counter shots. He does a ton of movement with his head and feet, generally making him hard to hit. He'll be seeing some power coming back his way from Charriere, but Mariscal does a great job of rolling with punches and limited damage to his chin. His ground game is also world-class so he'll give Charriere some issues with chasing submissions if they find themselves there.

Final Morgan Charriere-Chepe Mariscal Prediction & Pick

With the talent both of these prospects are bringing to the octagon, this fight has all the makings of a FOTN contender. Both Charriere and Mariscal are willing brawlers with great hands, so expect a high-paced boxing affair from the opening bell. It'll be interesting to see which fighter shoots for the first takedown as both guys are extremely adept on the ground.

Morgan Charriere will have the slight advantage with his offensive wrestling, but he'll have to be wary of the submission attempts coming back from Mariscal. Chepe Mariscal will have the small advantage with his striking and ability to move out of danger. Morgan Charreire tends to lean his head forward in the striking exchanges, so look for Mariscal to pick up on that and land some straight shots down the middle.

Ultimately, I think both fighters will try to implement their grappling games, but to no avail. Both men are very adept at recognizing takedown attempts and I think their grappling skills will cancel each other out. On the feet, we should see that Chepe Mariscal will be able to overcome the power advantage with his technicality and output. For our prediction, let's roll with the underdog to get the win.
