Two MTG Secret Lair Summer Superdrops are coming out this year, one of them being Assassin's Creed. While many fans of the game are eagerly anticipating the launch of the MTG Universes Beyond collaboration, it appears Wizards of the Coast plan on maximizing their partnership with Ubisoft. With that in mind, here are all the Secret Lair X Assassin's Creed cards dropping this June.

MTG Assassin's Creed Secret Lair Summer Superdrop 2024

MTG Secret Lair X Assassin's Creed is coming out this June 24, 2024. This special collaboration will be the game's debut in the MTG universe. Then the MTG Universes Beyond collaboration with Assassin's Creed will launch come July 5, 2024. This will give AC fans a scratch for their itch of having the iconic assassins as playable Magic cards. It's also worth noting that the Secret Lair Summer Superdrop will only be until July 14, 2024, or while supplies last.

The Assassin's Creed Secret Lair collaboration will come out in two variants: Lethal Legends and DaVinci's Design. Lethal Legends will have reskinned commanders featuring characters from the iconic video game franchise. As for DaVinci's Design, it will feature a set of Artifact Equipments based on existing MTG cards with a special AC design.

Here's a full list:

Lethal Legends

  • Altair, Brotherhood Mentor
  • Amunet, Tyrants' End
  • Basim, Master Assassin
  • Edward, Jackdaw Captain
  • Eivor, Raven Clan Champion

DaVinci's Design

  • Blade of Selves
  • Conqueror's Flail
  • Darksteel Plate
  • Deathrender
  • Whispersilk Cloak

Altair, Brotherhood MentorAltair, Brotherhood Mentor - MTG Secret Lair X Assassin's Creed

Altair, Brotherhood Mentor is a reskinned version of Kelsien, the Plague. He's a three-cost (one red, one white, and one black) 2/2 Legendary Creature with Vigilance and Haste. This creature gets a +1/+1 buff for each experience counter the controller has. It also has a tapped ability that pings a target opposing creature for 1 damage. For every kill the tapped ability gets, the controller will gain an experience counter.

What makes this potential commander powerful is the fact that the player is the one getting the experience counters. Even if Altair, Brotherhood Mentor dies, the moment he re-enters the battlefield, he will automatically get the +1/+1 buffs for every experience counter the controller has.

Amunet, Tyrants' EndAmunet, Tyrants' End - MTG Secret Lair X Assassin's Creed

Amunet, Tyrants' End is a reskinned version of Queen Marchesa. She's a four-cost (one generic, one red, one white, and one black) 3/3 Legendary Creature with Deathtouch and Haste. When this creature enters the battlefield, the controller becomes the monarch. Then whenever the opponent becomes the monarch, at the beginning of Amunet's controller's upkeep, they create a 1/1 Black Assassin creature token with Deathouch and Haste.

Given how Amunet, Tyrants' End relies on opponents becoming the monarch, the idea is to get them to damage the controller. Doing so will have the controller maximize its upkeep ability which allows them to create creature tokens.

Basim, Master AssassinBasim, Master Asssassin - MTG Secret Lair X Assassin's Creed

Basim, Master Assassin is a reskinned version of Ramses, Assassin Lord. He's a four-cost (two generic, one blue, and one black) 4/4 Legendary Creature with Deathtouch. This creature gives other Assassins the player controls a +1/+1 buff. Then Basim can also easily get the controller wins by simply attacking a player on the verge of losing.

One of the most annoying abilities in MTG is Ramses, Assassin Lord's. He can easily steal a victory. To make things worse, the controller only needs to attack one player on the verge of losing to win the game. That means, killing the remaining two players in a game of Commander format wouldn't matter for as long as the controller swings at the losing player that turn.

Edward, Jackdaw CaptainEdward, Jackdaw Captain - MTG Secret Lair X Assassin's Creed

Edward, Jackdaw Captain is a reskinned version of Admiral Becket Brass. He's a four-cost (one generic, one blue, one black, and one red) 3/3 Legendary Creature that gives other Pirates the player controls a +1/+1 buff. At the beginning of the controller's end step, they can gain control of a target nonland permanent an opponent controls if they dealt combat damage to them that turn with three or more Pirates.

If players plan on making Edward, Jackdaw Captain their commander, they should ensure that they're running a Pirate tribal deck. The idea is to overwhelm opponents with as many Pirates as possible to constantly steal their nonland permanent cards.

Eivor, Raven Clan ChampionEivor, Raven Clan Champion

Eivor, Raven Clan Champion is a reskinned version of Najeela, the Blade-Blossom. She's a three-cost (two generic and one red) 3/2 Legendary Creature that has an attack trigger that spawns a tapped and attacking 1/1 white Warrior creature token. Then she has a mana ability (one white, one blue, one black, one red, and one green) that untaps all attacking creatures and gives them Trample, Lifelink, and Haste until the end of the turn. The controller will then get an additional combat phase.

Basically, the idea of running a deck with Eivor, Raven Clan Champion as one's commander is to overwhelm opponents with heavy damage. It's ideal to have big creatures to fully utilize the Trample and Lifelink abilities. Plus it'll allow the controller to strike hard in one turn.

Blade of SelvesBlade of Selves

Blade of Selves is a two-cost (two generic) Artifact Equipment with an equip cost of 4. Equipped creatures will gain the Myriad ability.

This Artifact Equipment is perfect for big creatures that controllers want to maximize when defeating their opponents in a game of Commander format. Players can also add this card to their tokenator decks to create extra copies of the attacking Myriad creatures.

Conqueror's Flail Conqueror's Flail

Conqueror's Flail is a two-cost (two generic) Artifact Equipment with an equip cost of 2 that gives the equipped creature a +1/+1 buff for each color among the permanents the player controls. As long as Conqueror's Flail is attached to a creature, that player's opponents can't cast spells during their turn.

It's a good card to have for buffing creatures and silencing opponents. Ideally, a player would want to have this Artifact card in a five-color commander deck. This is to maximize the +1/+1 buffs it gives.

Darksteel PlateDarksteel Plate

Darksteel Plate is a three-cost (three generic) Artifact Equipment with Indestructible and an equip cost of 2. Equipped creatures will gain Indestructible as well.

This is the perfect protection equipment for a threatening creature a player controls. On top of making a particular creature difficult to get rid of, it won't be easy taking out the Artifact Equipment either.

DeathrenderDeathrender

Deathrender is a four-cost (four generic) Artifact Equipment with an equip cost of 2. Equipped creatures get a +2/+2 buff. Then whenever the equipped creature dies, the controller may put a creature card from their hand onto the battlefield and immediately attach Deathrender to it.

This Artifact Equipment can become a bit overpowered, especially in decks that utilize ETB, LTB, and death triggers. Players could always kill their own creatures to play another creature card from their hand for free. It can become quite abusive depending on how the controller plays the card.

Whispersilk CloakWhispersilk Cloak

Whispersilk Cloak is a three-cost (three generic) Artifact Equipment with an equip cost of 2. Equipped creatures can't be blocked and they gain Shroud.

This Artifact Equipment card can become a very crucial piece in the deck especially if the player is running a deck full of big creatures. Players could easily secure the victory simply by swinging heavy damage dealers on their board.

MTG Secret Lair X Assassin's Creed Price

As of the time of this writing, Wizards of the Coast is yet to announce the price for the MTG Secret Lair X Assassin's Creed collaboration despite its release date being only a few days away. For now, we can only assume that each collection will have a similar cost to the MTG Secret Lair X Hatsune Miku Summer Superdrop. Based on those prices, the Non-Foil set should cost $29.99 while the Rainbow set might cost $39.99.
