The NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Iowa Speedway for the first time. It is time to continue our NASCAR Cup series odds series with an Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol at Iowa prediction and pick.

The Iowa Speedway opened in September of 2006 but has yet to host a Cup Series race. The track is a 7/8 mile track with ten degrees of banking on the front stretch and just four degrees of banking on the backstretch. Turn varies from 12 to 14 degrees of banking. This makes it a fairly flat track and has hosted Xfinity Series and Truck Series races here before. Current Cup Series racers such as Chris Buescher, William Byron, and Christopher Bell have won at the track in the Xfinity Series.

With the structure and flat style, this track does have some similarities to base picks. the most similar would be Richmond, but New Hampshire, Phoenix, and Gateway all hold some similarities to this track.

Favorites To Win Cup Series at Iowa

The favorite in this race is Christopher Bell. He has won on this track in 2018, third and leading 94 laps on his way to a victory. He then came back and won again in 2019. Bell has also been solid at Richmond. In his last seven races there, he has led laps in four of them and finished sixth or better in six of the race. This includes a sixth-place finish after starting 29th in March at Richmond. He also won in New Hampshire in 2022. With his strong performances at Richmond, a past win on this track, and the win at New Hampshire, Bell should be considered one of the best bets in this race.

Kyle Larson is coming in fresh off a win at Sonoma. Sonoma has multiple elevated turns and now Larson moves to a completely different style of track. Still, he is the best all-around driver in the series right now. Larson finished third this year at Richmond after leading 144 laps and finishing the first stage in first. He also won at Richmond in the spring of 2023, with a 19th-place finish in the July race. Further, Larson has a top-five finish at Gateway, two top-four finishes in the last three races at Phoenix, and a recent third-place finish at New Hampshire.

Sitting third in odds is Denny Hamlin. Hamlin has been phenomenal at this style of track. At Richmond, he has dominated. In the last eight races, he has led laps in all of them and won six stages. He has two wins, three runner-up finishes, and a fourth-place finish. In the other two races, he led laps but got 12th and 20th. Hamlin has also been in the top ten at each of his last five races at New Hampshire. With how good Hamlin is on this style of track, combined with his great performances this year, winning three races and being in the top five seven times, he is a serious threat here at Iowa.

Ryan Blaney rounds out the favorites at this race. Blaney won at this track back in 2015, making him one of the few drivers in the group to have a win here. Further, Blaney has shown his dominance in this style of track at Phoenix. He has been in the top ten in each of his last eight races. He has been the runner-up there three times. Still, he has yet to win at Phoenix. Further, Blaney has struggled at Richmond as of late. In his last three races at Richmond, his best finish is 14th.

Sleepers To Win Cup Series at Iowa

Joey Logano currently sits just outside the favorite tier, but with a good qualifying round will jump up into it. Logano has had some strong showing at Richmond. In the ten races since the start of 2018, he has been the runner-up twice and finished inside the top ten eight times. He finished second in March at Richmond as well. He has also been solid at Gateway. Logano has a win, a third-place finish, and a fifth place in his three races there. Logano also has a win in 2022 at Phoenix and a runner-up finish in 2023 at New Hampshire

Chris Buescher is one of the other drivers who has won at Iowa before. He won the race in 2015, starting fourth in the race. Buescher had a ninth-place finish at Richmond this year and won the race in July of 2023. He also finished second this year at Phoenix and was fifth in the fall of 2023. Buescher sits 14th in points, and another quality finish would go a long way toward his playoff chances.

Cup Series at Iowa Prediction & Pick

While this is a new track to the NASCAR Cup Series, similarities and past races at the Xfinity level do tell a lot. Further, some drivers are just racing well this year. Ryan Blaney has not been one of those, but Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin are. There are plenty of quality picks for this race.

Cup Series at Iowa Prediction & Pick: Kyle Larson Top 5 (-115), Denny Hamlin Top 5 (+105), Logano Top 5 (+130)
