It is the NASCAR All-Star race as the NASCAR Cup Series moves to North Wilkesboro. It is time to continue our NASCAR Cup Series odds series with a NASCAR all-star race at North Wilkesboro prediction and pick.

The race will be at the North Wilkesboro Speedway this year. It is a .625-mile paved oval track in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. They will race for 200 laps on the track for this one. Halfway through the race, there will be a mandatory caution, which will force all the cars to come in for a pit. There, they will change tires and tire type. Another caution will be set for the 150-lap marker as well. To get into this race, a driver has to have won in the last year, won a prior all-star race, or be a prior points champion. This year, 18 drivers qualify for the race. The winner from last year, Shane van Gisbergen will not race in this one though, leaving NASCAR with 17 entries.

Before the race, the NASCAR All-Star Open, a 100-lap race, will determine two more entries. The top two drivers from the open will qualify for the All-Star race. Further, a winner of a fan vote, who did not qualify, will also join the field.

Current NASCAR drivers have not had regular-season races at North Wilkesboro in their careers. The last time a car raced in NASCAR was in 1996, in a race where Jeff Gordon beat out Dale Earnhardt. Still, last year, this was the host of the All-Star race. The track is unique, with an uphill backstretch and a downhill front stretch. It is also the most recently paved, being re-paved in 2023 after the last all-star race here.

Favorites To Win Cup Series at North Wilkesboro

Denny Hamlin comes in as the favorite in this race, with a recent great stretch of racing. Last year at the All-Star Race on this track, he finished 13th after starting ninth on the day. Still, Hamlin is a solid short-track racer. In his last seven races on short tracks, he has been inside the top five, five times. This includes wins at Richmond and Bristol this year, but a win at Briston in 2023. The only race outside the top five was an 11th-place finish in which he led 66 of 100 laps at Martinsville. Hamlin has led laps 17 of the last 19 races on short track, finishing inside the top ten 15 of 19 times.

William Byron was a 20th-placed finisher last year in the All-Star race. Byron is the most recent short track winner, coming away with a win at Martinsville. Bryan has been hit-and-miss at short tracks. In his last 15 races on short tackers, he has two wins, two third-place finishes, and five other top-ten finishes. Still, while he has a win at Martinsville in his recent set, in the last eight races, he has finished inside the top ten just three times. The last time Byron led a lap at a short track before MArinsville was at the 2023 Richmond spring race.

Kyle Larson won the all-star race last year and will be looking for a repeat. He led 145 of 200 laps in the race, taking the win over Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick. Larson has also been great on the short track. He has finished inside the top six in nine of his last ten races on the short track. The last time he was outside the top six was in the second Richmond Race of 2023, where he finished 19th. Further, Larson has won at Martinsville and Richmond in the last ten, HE has also led laps in eight of the last ten races on short tracks.

Sleepers To Win Cup Series at North Wilkesboro

Chase Elliott comes in clearly in the middle of the pack in odds in this race. He did finish fifth here last year, but he has had a solid short track record. This year, he has finished eighth at Bristol, fifth at Richmond, and third at Martinsville. HE led laps in each of those races as well. Elliott has been in the Top Ten in eight of the last nine races on short tracks as well. Still, he has not won on a short track since November of 202 at Martinsville.

Daniel Suarez is well down the oddsboard. He led 55 laps last year at the all-star break though, making him just one of two drivers to lead a lap in the race. Still, leading laps does not mean good finishes. Suarez has led laps in short track races before, including twice in his last seven short track races. He has not finished better than 17th at a short track in those races. Suarez does not have a great record with short tracks, but with the tire changes and the all-star format, taking someone who led 55 laps on this track before may be worth the long.

Cup Series at North Wilkesboro Prediction & Pick

This is a short track, with new pavement, and different tires being used in different parts of the race. The NASCAR all-star race will be one of the hardest to produce. Still, there are some quality bets to be made. Those who have done well on short tracks should be looked at the most, with the hope they can avoid a crash.

Cup Series at North Wilkesboro Prediction & Pick: William Byron Top 3 (+170), Kyle Larson Top 3 (+250)
