The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Madison, Illinois, and the World Wide Technology Raceway for the Enjoy Illinois 300. It is time to continue our NASCAR Cup Series odds series with a NASCAR Cup Series Enjoy Illinois 300 prediction and pick.

The World Wide Technology Raceway is located just outside of St. Louis in Illinois. It is a 1.25-mile oval, with some similarities to New Hampshire and Darlington. While it does have similarities, the track has some unique qualities too. It has steep banks on turns one and two, while three and four come out much flatter. It has a similar oval style to Darlington overall but with different banking. This is also just the third time a NASCAR Cup Series event will be held on this oval.

In 2022 the Enjoy Illinois 300 was won by Joey Logano, with Kyle and Kurt Busch rounding out the top three before Ryan Blaney came in fourth. Kyle Busch would move from runner-up to winner in 2023. He was followed by Denny Hamlin in that race, with Joey Logano rounding out the top cars.

Favorites To Win Cup Series Enjoy Illinois 300

Denny Hamlin is the points leader currently on the year. He has three wins already this year and seven top-ten finishes. His three wins match all of last year, and a win here would be his most in the season since 2020. Hamlin struggled in his first race on this track. He started sixth, and would be in fourth after stage one, but would finish 24th. In his second attempt, it was Hamlin starting third, and sitting third through the first two stages before finishing second. Hamlin is solid on these types of tracks too. In his last seven races at Darlington, he had one win and four top-ten finishes. His average finish in those races is tenth, tied with William Byron for the best among active drivers.

Kyle Larson always finds himself near the top of the odds board. One of the best all-around drivers in the sport, Larson is currently third in points. He has won twice this year and has been in the top five-ten times. Further, Larson was 18th at the Indy 500 last week and won an Xfinity road course race. Larson, like Hamlin, has had mixed results in his two races here. In 2022, he finished 12th but was up in fourth after the second stage of the race. In 2023, he finished fourth and led five laps in the race after starting 22nd. Ups and downs on this type of track are normal for Larson. In his last seven races at Darlington, he has a win and three total top fives. He has also finished outside the top 20 twice.

William Byron has also shown to be solid on these types of tracks. Darlington shows that. Byrson has a win and five top-ten finishes at Darlington. Further, he does have one race in which he did not finish but overall has been solid. Byron did not run great here in 2022. He was 19th in the race after starting 24th. Last time out was much better. Byron spent most of the race in the top ten, finishing seventh after stage one and fourth after stage two. He would finish the race in eighth place.

Rounding out the favorites is Ryan Blaney. Blaney has been great at this track. In 2022, Blaney finished fourth after starting fifth. Then, in 2023 he finished sixth after starting second. Further, Blaney finished three of the four stages in the two races in the top two. Only the second stage of the 2022 race saw Blaney finishing outside the top two, where he finished the stage tenth. Still, on a similar track to Darling, Blaney does not have a top-five finish in the last ten games.

Joey Logano is one of two racers who have won a race at the track. He started seventh in 2022 and would lead 22 laps, finishing first. In 2023, he started sixth, which would be fifth after the first stage, and seventh after the second, before finishing third. Further, Logano has been great at Darlington. He has a win in the last seven races and three top-ten finishes. Also, his worst finish at Darlington in the last seven races is 21st, better than both Denny Hamlin and William Byron.

Kyle Busch is the other man who has won a race here. Busch has been great at this track. In 2022, Busch started 12th before jumping to eighth after the first stage and then third after the second stage. He would go on to lead 66 laps and finish second place. Then, last time on this track, he started first, would finish first in the first stage, and then second after the second stage. Busch would lead 121 laps, and win the race. Busch has led laps in both races and been in the top three in three of four stages at this track. Still, Busch has not done great at tracks like this. At Darling Busch has been outside the top 30 in three of the last six races at Darlington.

Cup Series Enjoy Illinois 300 Prediction & Pick

This track at the World Wide Technology Raceway is highly unpredictable, much like Darlington. Still, there have been some consistent performances. The consistent performances have not come from the top players on the odds board though. The best play in this race is not a winner, but some of the top finishers.

Cup Series Enjoy Illinois Prediction & Pick: Denny Hamlin Top 5 (-135), William Byron Top 5 (+110), Kyle Busch Top 5 (+200)
