Though neither NBA greats will be on the floor for Sunday night's NBA All-Star festivities, both Tracy McGrady and Kobe Bryant will be there in spirit, as two current players plan to honor them with sneaker tributes.

According to Nick DePaula of ESPN, Domantas Sabonis will wear the “All-Star” editions of the Kobe 6 Protro line. Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown will honor McGrady with a red and blue pair of Adidas emblazoned with “Humble and Hungry” on each.

Sabonis' decision to wear the shoes is not only a tribute to a player the center has long admired, but it will also mark the 10th anniversary of Bryant's NBA All-Star performance in 2011–in which he won the game's MVP. While the Indiana Pacers standout was not close to Kobe Bryant, he has spoken openly about his admiration for the former Los Lakers star and recently became only the second European player in the league given a Kobe player exclusive shoe.

“I did not know him personally, but everybody knows Kobe” the two-time NBA All-Star told reporters following Bryant's death last year. “He's worldwide. An icon.”

As for Brown, the decision to honor Tracy McGrady in his first All-Star appearance is an easy one considering the Celtics guard has revealed in the past that he has patterned his own game after TMac's. Not only did the former All-NBA star serve as an inspiration for Brown when he was growing up, but he has also taken an active role in mentoring the young player, often working out with him during the league's offseason.

Considering how long Bryant and McGrady dominated the NBA All-Star festivities, it's no surprise that their legacies continue to be felt among the proceedings nearly a decade later.
