Cade Cunningham is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft on Thursday night. Before that takes place, the sensational guard has inked a big time deal with Nike, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Detroit Pistons hold the No. 1 overall pick and it's largely expected that they will select Cade Cunningham, despite recent reports that they are considering Jalen Green and Evan Mobley as well.

Via Nick DePaula of ESPN, Cade Cunningham spoke more on his endorsement deal with Nike.

“More than anything, they show that athletes are more than just athletes,” Cunningham told ESPN. “They really put the right message out for people to see. That was important to me. … I felt like it was a perfect match for me.”

“We all can tell a Nike commercial as soon as they come on,” he said. “Those things matter to me, and I want to be associated with a brand like that.”

Cunningham getting a massive endorsement deal isn't a surprise in the slightest, the only intrigue that always pops up is what outlet they will be going with. And for Cade Cunningham, it's Nike. He noted via ESPN how he's taking basketball more serious now.

“I'm not playing basketball just for fun anymore,” he said. “It's a business now, and that's the blessing of it. I'm happy that I've gotten to get to this point to where I can make money doing what I'm doing.”

This is that first step for the Oklahoma State product and now he will wait to see if he is indeed the No. 1 overall pick on Thursday night.
