University of North Carolina freshman point guard Coby White announced on Twitter that he is declaring for the 2019 NBA Draft.

White had a strong season at North Carolina and is projected to be a top-10 pick in this year's draft.

In 35 games this season for UNC, Coby White averaged 16.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists. The 6-foot-5 guard shot 42.3 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.

White and North Carolina lost to Auburn in the Midwest Regional Semifinal. White scored a combined 42 points in his three NCAA Tournament games.

Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish got all the buzz this season, but Coby White is a good player who figures to have instant impact as a rookie in the NBA next season. White scored over 30 points this season three times. He can get to the basket at will and his strong frame allows him to finish in heavy traffic.

As with most youngsters, White needs to work on his jump shot. He's drawn comparisons to Cleveland Cavaliers rookie point guard Collin Sexton, who was selected with eighth overall pick in the 2018 Draft.

The 2019 NBA Draft is on June 20 at the Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets.
