The Phoenix Suns are looking to turn the franchise around in a hurry. While most are focusing on the first overall pick in their pocket, the 16th overall pick could prove to be big as well.

According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7, the Suns are “enamored” with Donte DiVincenzo of Villanova.

DiVincenzo quickly shot up the draft boards after the NCAA Tournament where he showcased his ability to score in a variety of ways, his athleticism, and his defensive tenacity. DiVincenzo would go on to be named the Most Outstanding Player during the Final Four despite coming off the bench.

He was the star of the Championship against Michigan. He scored 31 points while making five three-pointers and coming up with multiple highlight-reel blocks.

Prior to his coming out party during the NCAA Tournament, DiVincenzo was not a lock to be drafted in the first round. Most people actually assumed that he would return to Villanova and assume a bigger role after the departure of guys like Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson.

Following the conclusion of Villanova's season, DiVincenzo's stock continued to soar. After putting in an impressive showing at the NBA combine, teams continued to show interest in the 21-year-old from Newark, Delaware.

Clearly, the Suns are one of those teams with immense interest in DiVincenzo. His offensive versatility and athleticism jump off the page, but Gambadoro also mentions DNA. This is likely due to the fact that DiVincenzo played on a wildly successful Villanova team so he comes from a winning culture.

Not only could the Suns use his physical talents on the court, they could benefit from his experience in the right culture.
