The world was shocked on Wednesday as news emerged about another violent shooting incident that happened earlier in the day, this time in Parkland, Florida. The suspect, a 19-year-old former student of the school where the act of violence was done, killed 17 people, which was confirmed by authorities after he was taken into custody.
NBA players from past and present reacted to the devastating news. They took to their Twitter accounts to give their thoughts about it, and asked for prayers for the victims and their families at this very difficult time.

The league has been raising a lot of awareness about different social issues the country is facing these days. They recently promoted equality by wearing shirts during warmups, and some players also had special colorways of their shoes to let their fans know that they are supporting the cause. Players are using their stature and basketball as a platform to promote positive change and make a difference in the lives of as many people as they possibly can.
It can be expected that more players will give their thoughts about the incident in the coming days, with possible demonstrations to show how much they condemn such acts, which truly has no place anywhere in the world.
Once again, innocent lives have been taken away by a senseless act that was caused by a disturbing behavior from the suspect and could also be considered one of the darkest days in the countryās history.
