There was most likely a lot of LoL-ing, eye-rolling, and SMH-ing from those who read the news of Dennis Rodman believing he can help the US-North Korea relationship. Rodman has an unlikely relationship with North Korea’s supreme leader, Kim Jong-un, but what does a former professional basketball player known for his tattoos and cross-dressing know about foreign policy?

However, Rodman has found an unlikely ally in Retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré, who is a former three-star general. According to TMZ, Honoré believes Rodman might actually be of some help, and that Donald Trump should “seriously consider” meeting with the ex-NBA star to smooth things out with Kim Jong-un.

General Honoré admits “Dennis says and does some unusual things,” but when it comes to a potential nuclear war …  “we don't have the luxury to turn down any option that might work.”

So, the fate of the world, which is potentially on the brink of a catastrophic nuclear war, could lie in the hands of a person nicknamed “The Worm?” That’s a truly terrifying thought.

But for some strange reason, Rodman and Kim have formed some sort of bond. As Honoré points out, it’s time to pull out all the stops when all of modern civilization is at stake. So if there’s even a tiny chance that Rodman can talk some sense into Kim, then why not go for it.
